Dr. Robert True is devoted full time to performing Ultra Refined Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation with excellent results. He has been performing hair transplantation exclusively since 1992 and has performed over 15,000 hair transplant procedures, many of them with well-known personalities. He is a managing partner with the True and Dorin Medical Group (formerly Elliott and True Medical Group).

Dr. True personally meets with prospective patients and provides follow up treatment in his Long Island, Boston, and New Jersey consultation offices. During consultations he thoroughly covers all aspects of treatment. A comprehensive and long-term treatment course is planned for every patient. Special attention is paid to aesthetic design concepts for the hairline and crown whorl, which is often a major reason patients choose Dr. True to restore their hair. Dr. True’s very experienced staff prepare all the follicular unit grafts using microscopes exclusively. He carefully creates all the incisions for these refined grafts using very tiny custom cut blades. By carefully controling the angle, direction and depth of these incisions he creates a very natural pattern and direction for the new hair, even in the temples and sides.

The special instruments he uses create tiny and minimally invasive incisions that enable very small grafts to be placed close together. This enables his patients to achieve cosmetic density in a given area after only one surgical session.

In addition to his full time hair restoration practice, Dr. True has presented at many major international professional meetings and his writings have been widely published. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and he is board certified in family medicine. He has also appeared on the Discovery Channel, Fox, PBS, Lifetime, and ABC news.

Prior to dedicating his talents to hair transplantation he pursued postgraduate training at the University of Illinois, the Mayo clinic and Johns Hopkins and had a distinguished career as the Director of Emergency Medicine for St. Francis, a major suburban Chicago hospital.
