Some or all of these problems may start a day or two before your menstrual period and last for part of or all of your menstrual period. Menstrual cramps are caused by contractions of your uterus as the blood leaves your uterus. (Read more about Menstrual Cramps)

Jessica Lindstrom is 27 years old, and although she’s totally healthy, sometimes her body turns on her at the time of the month. Her periods are agonizing. “I have intense lower back pain, nausea, and stomach irritation. There’s also pain when tightening the lower abdomen,” says Jessica. (Read more about PAINFUL PERIODS)
