Sinusitis sufferer, Norman Wiesenfeld, says that living with chronic sinus pain stole every ounce of his energy. “I was trying to go to sleep and had coughing attacks every night and I couldn’t sleep.”
Having no success with a multitude of different over-the-counter medications and other prescription drugs, Norman opted for sinuplasty, a revolutionary treatment for sinusitis.
“It is different than traditional endoscopic sinus surgery that we have been using for the past fifteen or twenty years, this is non invasive and we use it as a catheter similar to the catheter that we use for patients to open up clogged arteries in their heart, we are going to use it to open up clogged sinuses, so we open up those passageways with a balloon that we inflate under anesthesia,” explains Dr. B. M.S. AND ALZHEIMER’S DRUG
Taking a drug used for Alzheimer’s disease may help deal with the memory loss experienced by people with multiple sclerosis, according to a study published in the medical journal Neurology.

SINUSITIS AND ANTIBIOTICS
Antibiotic treatments for sinusitis still work, says a new study. Resistance in chronic sinusitis patients can be prevented if a careful and strict approach to care is followed. Learn more about it in this two-minute video clip. In the study, doctors made sure they knew the bacteria causing the infection, and were sure that the antibiotics would work. No significant increase in levels of bacteria-resistant bugs occurred. Most of the patients were treated using "culture-directed therapy," in which doctors performed a minimally invasive procedure to make sure the infection was caused by bacteria.
